Application and use

The semi-gloss coated surface of HERMApharm G offers an excellent quality of the imprint with all conventional printing methods.

Thanks to its high degree of suppleness HERMApharm G is eminently suitable for labelling circular items such as ampoules.

The high opacity of this label paper ensures a good coverage.

The pulp for this paper comes from FSC® certified forest management and other controlled sources.

Adhesive 63Z covers a very wide range of applications. Thanks to its aggressive adhesion properties it is suited for an extensive variety of even critical surfaces such as cardboard and ampoules. Likewise it is suited for cold-storage applications on dry surfaces. The adhesive is highly resistant to heat, light and ageing. The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Good die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (525) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is four years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

The paper complies with BfR XXXVI recommendations for direct contact with dry and/or greasy food.

All ingredients of adhesive 63Z comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 63Z can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 5 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating plastic films. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 21.04.2025).

Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 63Z can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from April 27, 2021).

The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
