Application and use

Thanks to its special surface treatment the glossy surface of HERMA PP 50 transparent tc offers an excellent printing quality in all conventional printing methods like e.g. UV flexographic printing. The primer on the back ensures perfect anchorage of the adhesive. In combination with the appropriate adhesive, this product is perfect for applications where the removability of the label is required. This film is not intended for use in unprinted zigzag applications, in which the coated print surface is in contact with itself.

HERMA PP 50 transparent tc is perfect for the production of optically demanding, glossy transparent labels. It is particularly suitable for labelling cosmetic products, cleaning agents etc., as well as for applic ations demanding resistance to chemicals or weather.

Adhesive 63Spc was specially developed to have extremely high tack on various substrates. Because of the high final adhesion 63Spc is very suitable for long-term identification, for labelling of difficult substrates and non-polar surfaces. This new kind of an adhesive gives on various substrates like PE, PET, aluminium, steel etc. similarly extreme high final adhesion values. Therefore it is suitable with the right face material or security die cutting as a tamper-evident-solution or as a seal for originality. Depending on the substrate the final adhesion will be reached in some cases in 24 hours. The tamper-evident-function is thus influenced by the surface (in folded boxes from the applied varnish) and by design of the substrate, by the design of the label and by the conditions in the end use. 63Spc has a particularly good resistant against light, heat and aging.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Very good die-cutting characteristics on all usual machines. Because of the high tack and increased coat weight the matrix stripping is recommended to do immediately at/after die cutting.

As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (525) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is one year from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

HERMA PP 50 transparent tc complies with the legal requirements or recommendations of Regulation (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 and subsequent amendments up to Regulation (EC) no. 2019/1338 on pla stics and articles intended to come into contact with food as well as of Regulation (EC) no. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
