Application and use

The glossy surface of the HERMAgloss B offers an excellent quality of the imprint with all conventional printing methods.

HERMAgloss B is used for high-quality labels with elaborate printing, such as decoration, advertising and product labels.

The pulp for this paper comes from FSC® certified forest management and other controlled sources.

Adhesive 63Gpt shows excellent tack even on cold and moist surfaces. Due to its high tack the adhesive is particularly suited for labelling surfaces like milk bottles, plastic containers, film wrappings and other packaging materials. Once labelled the adhesive is highly waterproof. Typical areas of application for this coated kraft liner are computer labels for laser printers (continuous or sheet stock), which require higher stiffness.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA KW (527) offers good die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary label cutters.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is two years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

The paper complies with BfR XXXVI recommendations for direct contact with dry and non fatty food.

All ingredients of adhesive 63Gpt comply with recommendations BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 63Gpt can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 4 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (Declaration of no objection valid until 03.03.2024).
