Thanks to its special topcoat the glossy surface of HERMA PE white tc gives a good print quality in conventional printing processes like e.g. UV flexo printing.
HERMA PE white tc can be used to produce visually demanding, glossy, non-transparent labels. For recycling reasons these labels are preferably used on PE surfaces.
Thanks to the high flexibility of this material even curved surfaces and deformable packaging may be labelled without any problems.
The adhesive 62Gpo is a coloured adhesive with very high opacity. By the use of the innovative 2-layer-technology a very high tack even on moist and very cold surfaces can be reached. 62Gpo suits particularly well for labelling of polar and non-polar surfaces such as plastic containers, packaging films and plastic bottles, but also on cardboard and other packaging materials. Less suitable for strongly curved surfaces or tight radii.Based on the very high opacity 62Gpo is typically to correct the information, to translate country-specific changes or to avoid read errors e.g. for oversticking barcodes.
Once labelled the adhesive is highly waterproof.
The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (517) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is two years from date of production.
HERMA PE white tc (851) is in compliance with Commission Regulations (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 and subsequent amendment 250/2026/EU on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food, as well as Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
Furthermore, HERMA PE white tc (851) complies with the following sections of the FDA CFR 21:
- §177.1520 Olefin polymersAdjuvant substances are permitted by applicable regulations in parts 170 through 189 of FDA CFR21, are generally recognised as safe (GRAS) in food and food packaging, have prior sanction status,or do not migrate into food due to a functional barrier in this material. The material is suitable for use in contact with all types of food as described in §176.170 (c), Table 1.The material is suitable for the following conditions of use as described in §176.170 (c), Table 2:- C. Hot filled or pasteurized above 150 °F- D. Hot filled or pasteurized below 150 °F- E. Room temperature filled and stored (no thermal treatment in the container)- F. Refrigerated storage (no thermal treatment in the container)- G. Frozen storage (no thermal treatment in the container)- The material is not intended for packing or holding food during cooking. The material is not intended for use at temperatures exceeding 121 °C (250 °F).
All ingredients of adhesive 62Gpo comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Gpo can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 3 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (Declaration of no objection valid until 17.11.2027).
The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
